Evolution and Destiny of the Body

[NOTE: While serving as mentor for an online version of "A Search For God" study group and working on the Destiny of the Body lesson, a class member shared some information on the Destiny of the Body based on various metaphysical traditions. Here is my reply. – David McMillin]

Thanks for reminding us of the ideas on evolution and human destiny put forth by Theilhard de Chardin and Sri Aurobindo. I have always been fascinated by Chardin's concept of the "noosphere" as sort of the mental atmosphere of the planet ("sphere of human thought").
The Cayce readings tend to differentiate the various aspects of evolution, and particularly human evolution:

For, indeed each entity, each soul, is in the process of evolution towards the First Cause. Much becomes evolution, - much may become involution. (2079-1)

This perspective seems to portray HUMAN EVOLUTION as restoration. So in understanding how we became INVOLVED with physical bodies (INVOLUTION) we can see where EVOLUTION is headed. I think that is what the readings are describing in terms of the "celestial body" which is the destiny of the human body – essentially "spiritualizing" the flesh, raising it to a higher vibration so to speak. Thus we are in the process of restoring the celestial body that we had before the descent into materiality as described in the Cayce creation story.

Like evolution in the rest of creation, it is a slow process and not all souls evolve at the same pace, for sure. Some individuals are more advanced and can serve as helpers and examples of how to achieve this development. Of course this evolutionary process involves basic human experiences such as food, sex, power, etc. that will be spiritualized. With regard to sex and the restoration to the native androgyny of the soul (that does not require sexual reproduction to progenerate), some members of this group might find interesting a little article I wrote as part of the Atlantis project:

Sex in Atlantis

Thanks for sharing your personal ideals and experiences working with your physical body and its healing. As the readings consistently maintain, all healing comes from the Divine within and is spiritual in its source. The various modalities are just tools for attunement (literally the attuning of vibration), but it is the energy of Spirit that makes us whole. The healing journey requires active Faith and Patience, as you are aware. Blessings to you as you continue to spiritualize your physical body in this earthly experience. Dave
